Synopsis: This book will provide help for
prcatitioners on how to identify sensory difficulties and how to
respond quickly and appropriately to them. These will include children
who have mild to severe visual or hearing impairment and a few
children may be registered blind or deaf. There is advice on the legal
requirements of handling special needs, including information on the
Code of Practice for special needs and ideas for working with parents
and outside agenices. There are six chapters of practical activities
linked to all six areas of the Early Learning Goals. These show how
sensory difficulties can be supported in an inclusive approach that
involves all children in the group. A section of supporting
photocopiable activities is included and there is information on
furthersources of help and information.
